EU Data Act 

The EU Data Act is a regulation designed to give  users more control over the IoT-data generated by their connected produtcs.

Under the EU Data Act, you have the right to request your vehicle-generated data for yourself and/or  share with Third Parties.

Vehicle Data

The types of data collected by vehicles can vary significantly depending on factors such as the vehicle model, configuration, country of operation, and user-defined settings. Common categories of data include performance data (e.g., fuel consumption, average speed), telematics data (e.g., location, route history), and vehicle condition data (e.g., maintenance records, diagnostic fault codes).

Yes, you can request a copy of the data generated by your vehicle falling under the EU Data Act. This typically includes information such as vehicle performance metrics, driving behavior, diagnostic data, and usage patterns. To submit a request, please use the EU Data Act Portal.

Yes, you can configure a set of data points as a data. Furthermore, you can configure the frequency and duration of data delivery.

Your vehicle data will be provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format to ensure compatibility with various tools and systems. The specific format may vary depending on the type of data requested, but typically includes standard file types such as JSON, CSV, or XML.

The time required to receive your requested vehicle data may depend on the complexity of the request and the volume of data. While exact timelines may vary, data is typically provided as soon as possible after the request is successfully submitted.

In the context of the EU Data Act Portal, your vehicle data will only be shared upon your request. If you wish to export the vehicle data to a Third Party, you can initiate/agree to the data sharing request on the EU Data Act portal.

Fees

In accordance with the EU Data Act, users are generally entitled to access their vehicle data free of charge.

Customer Support

You can request access to your data via the EU Data Act portal or by contacting our support team. Please note that identity verification may be required before your data can be provided.

EU Data Act relevant data is generally only gathered, if you have a Volkswagen Group Brand account. Therefore, you can only receive data in case you have such an account.

Your vehicle will only be displayed in the EU Data Act Portal if you have the role of Primary User for this vehicle. In case you have a different role and expect to have rights according to EU Data Act for this vehicle please reach out to our support team euda-support@cariad.technology.
